Community Involvement at Bowers Plumbing, Heating & Air
When people hear Bowers Plumbing, Heating & Air, they usually think of plumbing repairs, furnace tune ups, and air conditioning installation. That is what we do every day.
These efforts grow out of the same values we bring into every service call: compassion, honesty, craftsmanship, and steady care for the people around us.
Underneath the tools and trucks, we are a third-generation family business rooted in Wichita. We live here, worship here, raise kids here, and we have always believed that a local company should contribute to the community story, not just appear on a bill.
If you know of a local effort that aligns with our values and skill set, we welcome those conversations. Thank you for trusting Bowers Plumbing Company in your home. Your support allows us to continue giving back to Wichita in practical and meaningful ways.
Community involvement is woven into who we are. Below, we highlight some of the initiatives we are proud to be part of.
How We Support Our Community
-
Pay It Forward Furnace Giveaway
Bowers Plumbing Company hosted the Pay It Forward Furnace Giveaway to support a homeowner in our service area who needed a safe, reliable heating system. Nominations were accepted through October 31, and we received meaningful submissions from people across the community.
After reviewing each story, our management team selected a recipient based on need and eligibility. On November 15, we visited the family at their home to share the news. The family received a brand new furnace and full installation from our team.
The giveaway served as a reminder of how much difference a single nomination can make and how people in this area continue to look out for one another in practical, heartfelt ways.

Supporting Local Students Through the McAdams Academy Golf Classic
We were honored to sponsor the McAdams Academy Golf Classic held at Sand Creek Station. The event brought together golfers, community supporters, and partners committed to the Academy’s mission.
McAdams Academy provides a trauma-informed, classroom-based program for students who have been expelled, suspended, or are in foster care without a stable school placement. The Academy focuses on academic support, behavioral growth, and life skills, helping students rebuild confidence and direction.
The Golf Classic helped raise funds for these programs, and we were grateful to play a role in supporting an organization that aligns closely with the values we teach inside our own walls: responsibility, teamwork, leadership, and compassion.

Thanksgiving Giveaway: Holiday Meals for Local Families
As the holiday season approached, our team organized a Thanksgiving Giveaway to provide full holiday meals to a select number of families navigating a tough season. Nominations closed on November 7. People across the community reached out to share about neighbors and loved ones who could use the extra support. All submissions were kept confidential, and the deliveries were handled with care. This initiative tied naturally to our work. We spend much of the year helping families manage stressful situations in their homes. Offering a holiday meal was another way to support the people we serve.

Blue Sky Ranch Project: Plumbing Support for a Home That Supports Young Men
Another meaningful part of our community involvement was our work with Blue Sky Ranch, founded by longtime educator and coach Paul White. The ranch serves boys who often come from fatherless homes or difficult backgrounds. Through mentorship, trades training, Equine Assisted Learning, and faith-based guidance, the ranch provides structure, responsibility, and meaningful male leadership. Many of the young men participate for years, and the ranch recently celebrated more than a decade of steady work.

After a challenging financial period, the White family spent five years without a suitable home on the property. This year, through the generosity of multiple local partners, a new home was finally built. Bowers Plumbing Company contributed fixtures, sinks, showers, a tankless water heater, complete plumbing labor, and a clean mechanical room layout designed to keep the system easy to maintain for years to come.
Hearing from Paul about what the new home means for their family and the ministry made the project especially meaningful for our team.
